Challenge

The customer required a centralized material handling and utility system for a cleanroom injection molding workshop producing cosmetic packaging components. The main engineering challenge was to ensure that the correct material was delivered reliably to each of the 32 injection molding machines while maintaining the cleanliness requirements of the production environment. Material segregation during conveying also had to be minimized to maintain consistent material composition at the machine. At the same time, dust-generating and noisy auxiliary equipment needed to be separated from the clean production area as much as possible. The water, electrical, compressed-air, and material piping systems also had to be organized in a clean and structured layout suitable for a high-standard cosmetic packaging production environment.
